Just spoke to my brother in law about Trump. He voted for Trump. He says he's happy about the way things are going and that his tax dollars should not have to go to paying for someone else's food stamps.

I handed the phone to Law and tried not to kill myself.

It was so upsetting to hear him talk about not just drinking the kool-aid, but how tasty it is! Though he at least had the grace to be embarrassed about the pussy-grabbing, he finally dismissed everything he didn't agree with as 'fake news'. It's fucking unbelievable. Like.. literally. I nearly cried while I was talking to him, just from the sheer feeling of being overwhelmed by the stupidity of it all. I'm just disgusted. I don't like my brother in law enough to keep talking to him after this, though I suppose I will try to be cordial for Law's sake. Fuck this world, though. Just fuck it.

After the election I asked around, found out the family members who voted for Trump, and fired them all. Life's too short.

Well, as you know, I have zero problems firing family members. But, this is Law's only brother, who he loves despite his flawed politics. So for Law's sake, I'll be... resigned, if not cordial. But I frankly have my doubts that I'll have to talk to him anytime soon. It may be years before he realizes that I'll never speak to him again outside of family obligation.

I wasn't really recommending it in your case, just saying I know where you're coming from.

I don't understand people who say it's just another political difference of opinion. It's clearly not just a Democrats vs. GOP thing. Trump is fundamentally unconservative, un-Republican, and by modern standards, un-American.

Everything about him says "The last sixty years have been a mistake and we need to go back to 1957."

I have also fired every family member that is drinking this kool-aid. For a while I've been wrapping my head around it by thinking of them as mentally disabled, but at this point, the shit is so evident and obvious that even a mentally disabled person could see it. At this point they just look like soulless, heartless trolls that want to see blood and fire and death everywhere. That's the point where I said "fuck you, and fuck you too and also you".
